Meets criteria across platforms, devices and viewports 4.0.0 AA
Name and role is documented 4.1.2 A

A footer landmark must work for people with disabilities:

Low vision

Text has a 4.5:1 minimum contrast ratio 1.4.3 AA

Blindness

Name and role is documented 4.1.2 A
Meets criteria across platforms, devices and viewports 4.0.0 AA

Usage

The <footer> landmark of your web page typically contains legal information and a duplication of your navigation or a mini site map.

Some screen readers may call it “contentinfo” instead of footer, and that’s okay.

People using a screen reader can skip to the <footer> landmark using shortcuts.
